Project Description
Electrical Layout Design
Arc flash hazards pose a serious risk to personnel safety in the operation and maintenance of electrical distribution equipment. EG&R’s licensed professionals can model our client’s existing power distribution system to determine the arc flash hazards and determine the required PPE (personal protective equipment) for safe equipment operation.

REPRESENTATIVE PROJECT EXPERIENCE
Switchgear Replacement:
Engineering and Design services for the replacement of the facility’s existing 15kV and 5kV distribution systems. This included the design of a new prefabricated Power Distribution System (PDC) with a new 3000A, 13.8kV switchgear lineup, and new 2000A 4.16kV switchgear lineup.
Substation Upgrades for Rail Yards:
Upgrade of existing distribution system from 4.16kV service to 13.8kV service. EG&R provided electrical design support and electrical shop drawing preparation for new MV disconnect switches, transformers, switchgear, battery chargers, and PLC equipment.
Power Distribution and Controls:
Engineering and Design for a new power distribution system to support Generating Stations. Project included complete interdisciplinary design services and project coordination for electrical, structural, mechanical, and architectural work for facilities generating 16 to 90 MW of electrical power derived from waste sources.
