
Dr. B.V. Rao has over 40 years of experience in project and program management of environmental, construction, A-E multidisciplinary engineering, and design-build projects for both public and private sector projects. As a seasoned program manager, Dr. Rao has successfully overseen A-E, construction, and design-build contracts for key federal agencies, including the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Navy, the Air Force, the US EPA, and the USDOT. Further, Dr. Rao served as the business development lead for A-E firms, responsible for identifying and pursuing new opportunities in the federal, state, and local government, as well as the private sector, to drive the growth of various AE firms.
As the Business Development Lead for EG&R Engineering PC, Dr. Rao is responsible for identifying and pursuing new opportunities in the federal, utility, and private sectors to drive the company’s growth. He leads strategic initiatives, manages client relationships, and develops partnerships that align with our core expertise in electrical power distribution, substation design, and engineering services. Dr. Rao’s role includes proposal development, market intelligence, and positioning EG&R Engineering PC for success in competitive procurement environments (Federal, State, and Industry), including SBA 8(a), set-aside, and design-build opportunities.
Dr. Rao has also held leadership roles with the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), serving as Chair of the Small Business Council (2009–2016) of the SAME NJ Post and currently as a Board Member.
Dr. Rao holds a Ph.D degree in Geochemistry/Geology from Indiana University, Bloomington, IN. Later, he continued four years of post-doctoral studies in geochemistry at the University of Toronto (Canada). He holds a master’s degree (M. Sc Tech) in Applied Geology (with coursework in electrical and mechanical engineering) and a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and physics.
