EG&R Engineering PC is a fast-growing multi-disciplinary engineering firm located in Cranbury, NJ. EG&R provides electrical, mechanical, environmental and geotechnical engineering services for a variety of markets including government, utilities/power, waste to energy companies, transit agencies, manufacturing industries, pharmaceuticals, A-E firms/Architects, and various types of commercial clients.
EG&R Engineering is seeking an Electrical Designer with 5+ years of experience to serve as an integral part of a talented team. Experience in the utility and/or transit industry is preferred; AutoCAD experience required; MicroStation experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Responsibilities include but are not limited to physical layouts, electrical protection and control systems drawings.
- Design and drafting services that meet the client’s requirements and expectations while conforming to appropriate Codes and Standards for the associated project. Detailed designs and drawings include:
- Power & Electrical Distribution
- Electrical One-Line Diagrams
- Schematics
- Interconnection diagrams
- Plans-Lighting, Grounding, Power, Heat Tracing, etc.
- Conduit/Cable Schedules
- Electrical Details
- Perform checking of designs/sketches and redlines to ensure quality of design product.
- Responsible for working closely with other engineering and design team members to coordinate overall design package and requirements.
- Perform design assignments by applying learned industry standard design techniques in the creation of electrical drawings.
- Create detailed Bill of Materials (BOM) for each area of the design
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of electrical design experience.
- Substation and/or transit experience preferred.
- Individual must have experience with general arrangements, plan and sections, conduit, grounding, and lightning protection.
- Fluent in AutoCAD and/or Microstation.
- Experience with drawings containing both raster and vector elements.
- Work with minimal guidance
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- The applicant must have good oral and written communication skills and the ability to be part of a project team
