Project Description

Environmental Site Investigations

EG&R personnel bring in decades of experience in investigating soil and groundwater contaminated sites using a variety of innovative field techniques. Our personnel have conducted Remedial investigations (RIs) for Comprehensive Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), State Superfund, and other sites contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbons, chlorinated hydrocarbons, coal tars (MGP Sites), PCBs, pesticides, and metals. In all, RIs were conducted for over 300 sites by our key personnel. Our personnel prepared site-specific Health & Safety Plans, Field Sampling Plans, and Quality Assurance Project Plans. EG&R provided RI services to industries, utility companies, commercial clients, and government.

REPRESENTATIVE PROJECT EXPERIENCE

Remedial Investigations (RI), Former Lukoil Site, Chopra Energy, 352-356 Rt 40 W, Carneys Point, NJ (NJDEP PI# 019144): Scope of the project is to delineate the horizontal and vertical extent of soil and groundwater contamination by petroleum hydrocarbons. The RI comprised: Over 100 soil borings throughout the site for soil sampling (volatiles, semi volatiles, and metals), installation of 25 temporary well points for groundwater sampling, installation of 22 shallow and deep monitoring wells, groundwater sampling on a quarterly basis for over five years, aquifer characterization using pumping and slug tests, receptor evaluations, baseline ecological assessment, potable well sampling, vapor intrusion investigations, LNAPL (product) measurements and delineation of the extent, and preparation of RI Report and submission to NJDEP. Dr. B.V. Rao of EG&R is the LSRP of Record.

Remedial Investigation (RI), UMI Enterprises, 233-255 N. Avenue, Dunellen, NJ (NJDEP PI# 620393):

The scope of the project is delineation of the horizontal and vertical extent of soil and groundwater contamination with chlorinated solvents (PCE, TCE and their byproducts). Conducted 40 soil borings and soil sampling at multiple depths, 20 temporary well points and 12 permanent groundwater monitoring wells, four quarters of groundwater sampling, slug tests to characterize the aquifer, receptor evaluations, developed site conceptual model, performed fate and transport calculations, and conducted vapor intrusion investigations. Prepared RI report and submitted to NJDEP. Dr. B.V. Rao of EG&R served as the LSRP of Record.
