Vinaya (Vin) Bhagavathula, P.E. – President and CEO, Principal and Director of Engineering

Vin Bhagavathula is a registered Professional Engineer with over 15 years of experience in the design, engineering and construction management of electrical projects. Vin was previously employed for 10 years by Washington Group International/URS (now AECOM), one of the largest globally recognized engineering firms in the industry. Vin‘s electrical engineering experience primarily includes design of electrical distribution systems for several large scale power projects for utility companies such as Allegheny Energy, WE Energies (Wisconsin Electric), and Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA).

Vin has a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering specializing in Power Systems from Drexel University and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Rutgers School of Engineering. Vin is a registered Professional Engineer (PE) in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Tennessee, and Kentucky.

V R Bhagavathula (B.V. Rao), Ph.D. P.G., LSRP – Dirctor of Geo-Environmental and Geotechnical Engineering Group

Dr. Bhagavathula serves primarily as the Director of Geo-Environmental (including Geotechnical) Services for EG&R Engineering, PC. In the past 40 years, Dr. Rao  managed and directed over 400 major geo-environmental projects involving site remediation, geological and hydrogeological investigations, environmental compliance/permitting, and geotechnical investigations. He provided these services to a variety of clients including Federal, State and City Governments, manufacturing industries, utilities, pipeline companies, financial institutions, law firms, A-E and construction companies, and various commercial clients. Dr. Rao managed A-E/Design-Build/Construction contracts with U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, U.S Army Corps of Engineers, National Guard, U.S. EPA, and U.S. DOT while employed with various A-E Firms.

Dr. Rao’s expertise includes environmental site assessments, soil and groundwater contamination studies (including remediation), human health risk assessments, groundwater flow and contaminant transport, clean up levels evaluations, design and implementation of remedial actions, environmental permitting and compliance (NEPA, SEQR, NPDES, RCRA, CERCLA, UST, OSHA, Coastal Zone Management), wetlands delineations/permitting, green infrastructure design, and environmental forensics.

Dr. Bhagavathula was previously employed by various engineering and consulting firms including Hydro-Search/ GeoTrans (now Tetra Tech), Woodward Clyde Consultants (now URS/AECOM), Geraghty & Miller (now Arcadis), and GZA Geoenvironmental, Inc., besides other regional A-E firms. He taught graduate courses in groundwater contamination at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). Dr. Bhagavathula was a principal instructor for a number of short courses in groundwater contamination focusing on Dense Non-Aqueous Phase Liquid (DNAPL) contamination in groundwater.

Dr. Bhagavathula received a Ph. D degree in Geochemistry/Geology from Indiana University, Bloomington, IN, in 1981. Later, he continued his post-doctoral studies in geology/geochemistry at University of Toronto (Canada) during the period 1982 through 1985. He holds a Master’s degree in Applied Geology (Geological Engineering and Hydrogeology) and a Bachelor’s degree majoring in Mathematics, Physics and Geology.

Dr. Bhagavathula is a registered Professional Geologist in several states and is a Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) in the State of New Jersey.
